A week-long annual celebration of diversity and talent will begin at Sheffield Hallam University next Monday (4 March).<\/strong><\/p>\n

With a programme packed full of live music, dance, cultural performances, social events and more, there’s something for everyone and all are welcome to get involved.<\/p>\n

Solo-performances from vocalists and musicians will be combined with cultural celebrations, including Kurdish, Pakistani, Indonesian, Bulgarian and Vietnamese events.<\/p>\n

Venues include the Heartspace Caf\u00e9 in the Owen building, Heart of the Campus at Collegiate Crescent and the Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union building, the Hubs.<\/p>\n

The week-long event will see performances and events run by staff and students, with a focus on celebrating talent and culture.<\/p>\n

Now in its ninth year, SHU Fest 2019 will be opened with a performance from Three Profs and No Piano – Professors Cranton, Eccleston and Sammon are talented musicians, as well as experts in their fields.<\/p>\n

Fancy making some scones? SHU staff member Paul Benson is\u00a0running a baking workshop. Always wanted to try salsa dancing? The Salsa Society is running a Give It A Go session for just \u00a35. Or is break-dancing more your style? You can try that too, with the Breakdancing Society.<\/p>\n

The week will be rounded off in style at the weekend with a trip to Oxford and an international picnic in Graves Park, Sheffield.<\/p>\n

Samantha Logan from the International Experience Team said: “SHU Fest is a lively and refreshing week of events that brings people together from different backgrounds to celebrate their cultural heritage and unique talents.”<\/p>\n
