{"id":302,"date":"2017-05-17T13:37:36","date_gmt":"2017-05-17T13:37:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/hwbstaffnews\/?p=302"},"modified":"2017-05-17T13:37:36","modified_gmt":"2017-05-17T13:37:36","slug":"prevent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/hwbstaffnews\/2017\/05\/17\/prevent\/","title":{"rendered":"Prevent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Sheffield Hallam Prevent Course has been developed to provide an overview for staff on the Prevent duty and focuses on raising general awareness of Prevent amongst all staff.<\/p>\n<p>The course content covers:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A definition of what Prevent is.<br \/>\n\u2022The Prevent duty in Higher Education &#8211; what must be done.<br \/>\n\u2022Definitions of terrorism, extremism and radicalisation<br \/>\n\u2022Specific Sheffield Hallam information &#8211; policies, procedures and staff responsibility<\/p>\n<p>The course is for all staff and is delivered in two ways &#8211; via an e-learning module and via a workshop. The material in the e-learning module and the workshop is the same, so staff won\u2019t need to complete both.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop is an hour-long interactive session and provides the opportunity for staff to discuss the key issues in the Prevent duty. Places can be booked via CORE Portal. Sessions are currently scheduled for:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Wednesday 24 May 2pm-3pm<br \/>\n\u2022 June 2017: Monday 5 June 2pm-3pm<br \/>\n\u2022 Thursday 22 June 10am-11am<\/p>\n<p>The E-Learning module takes 30 minutes to complete.
