Dear Colleagues<\/p>\n

It was wonderful to take part in the graduation ceremonies last week. They were so well organised and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved, from the organisation in preparation, to those that took part in the events. It was lovely to see so many happy people sharing a very special occasion, from the students and their families, to all the staff involved.<\/p>\n

Even for the family receiving a posthumous award for a student who sadly died during their studies, they told me how kind and supportive Hallam colleagues had been, and despite their incredible sadness they had found considerable comfort in taking part in the ceremony and remembering their loved one.<\/p>\n

Graduation always reminds\u00a0us how important our role is as educators, knowledge sharers, creators and innovators, as we support our students’ development, and for the younger students, their preparation for their life’s journey. The world is a rapidly changing place. By facilitating our students to develop the behaviours to enable them to adapt the skills and learning they acquire and to maintain a curiosity and love of knowledge, we will know that when they graduate they can go out into the world and succeed in whatever they choose to do.<\/p>\n

Just over 2000 students from the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing took part in the graduation ceremonies, and all of those students were smiling and proud of their achievement. We hope Faculty staff are equally proud of supporting those students through the ups and downs of their studies and personal development because you have collectively helped many to achieve a major cornerstone of their life’s ambitions.<\/p>\n
