The HWB Learning Enhancement Committee recently agreed a refreshed approach to our Communities of Enhancement (CoE).\u00a0 We are now aligning all community sessions to a framework of four themes and have four launch sessions for you to get involved with. Each CoE also has an online Google Plus Community which you can join. More details are available on the Learning Enhancement Blog page for the CoE<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span> The launch sessions for each CoE are listed below. We look forward to seeing you!<\/p>\n

As part of the SHU Employability Plan (2017-20) a number of graduate attributes have been identified which all learners on courses at Sheffield Hallam University will be expected, through facilitation, to achieve during their course of study with us. These have been developed under what is recognised internally as the 3 + 3 graduate attributes framework. Come and find out all about it.<\/p>\n

This event forms the launch of the Graduate Futures HWB Community of Enhancement. Our aim is to explore the theme of graduate futures and identify and recommend best practice. The community will explore topics such as employability, enterprise in the curriculum, Graduate Outcomes (GO) and Destinations of Leavers of Higher Education (DLHE) survey outcomes, co-curricular activities, and Graduate Attributes.<\/p>\n

At the start of the workshop will provide a brief overview of terminology and understanding related to Trans people. Two case studies will be presented, one will relate to supporting Trans people in Higher Education and the other to supporting in a community or health and social care setting. In groups we will consider possible approaches to this support.
\nWe will then move onto interventions that people may have tried or approaches they are intending to take.<\/p>\n

What does the university do at the moment to be inclusive or all students and what should we do? This will be a brief exploration of the role of the university in ensuring inclusive practice for staff and students.
\nTo end the session we will hear a description of a further case study. Community members will be invited to take this away and consider what approaches they might take in this situation.<\/p>\n

This event forms the launch of the Stakeholders and Partners HWB Community of Enhancement. Our aim is to explore the components of successful partnership working with stakeholders and partners, and identify and recommend best practice. The community will explore topics such as involvement of Service Users, Carers and Experts-by-Experience in learning, teaching and assessment; partnership working; student involvement; inclusive practice; and employer and alumni involvement.<\/p>\n

This event forms the launch of the Student Success HWB Community of Enhancement. Our aim is to explore factors contributing to student success in its widest sense. These will include key issues such as BME attainment, academic integrity, learner analytics, retention and progression, student feedback and many others. Please come along to participate in and contribute to the debate, and enhance learning and teaching practice. You could use this workshop as a part of your peer review or professional recognition process.<\/p>\n
