{"id":240,"date":"2017-05-15T13:41:22","date_gmt":"2017-05-15T13:41:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/hwbstaffnews\/?p=240"},"modified":"2017-05-15T13:42:20","modified_gmt":"2017-05-15T13:42:20","slug":"solution-to-support-the-upload-of-media-files-on-blackboard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/hwbstaffnews\/2017\/05\/15\/solution-to-support-the-upload-of-media-files-on-blackboard\/","title":{"rendered":"Media files can now be used on Blackboard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new solution has been integrated with Blackboard which will allow students and staff to upload <strong>media files<\/strong> (currently up to 2GB in size), such as video assignments and video or audio feedback, safe in the knowledge that the files are stored securely.<\/p>\n<p>Other benefits include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>files are uploaded to a central publishing point and delivered back as streamlining media<\/li>\n<li>content is automated transcoded to work across all devices from with Blackboard<\/li>\n<li>submitted work is accessed via the Grade Centre, enabling staff to view or listen to student video or audio assignments and provide feedback without leaving Blackboard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This will mean a change to the process for staff and students when submitting media files, so guidance including screencasts is now available in the <a href=\"http:\/\/academic.shu.ac.uk\/assessmentessentials\/submittingsitting\/online-submission\/\">Submitting Work Online<\/a> section of Assessment Essentials.
