The research found those sitting on their own on the perimeter of lecture theatres did worse than average and students who sat in friendship groups tended to achieve similar grades. &#8220;Interaction is a key part of learning and knowing who the students are interacting with can be a great benefit when designing activities,&#8221; Dr Smith said.
