The Hallam Skills Series in an exciting new initiative created to support your development of essential life skills, starting in Y9 all the way though to Y11.
Over the course of the programme you will take part in a variety of unique events focused on developing skills such as confidence, communication and creative thinking, amongst others, all of which will benefit you in the short-term as you progress through school, as well as helping you achieve your goals in the future, whatever they may be.
This is a three-year commitment, culminating in a celebration of your achievements as a part of the series with a graduation in front of your family and peers. Some sessions will be led by university staff during school time, including opportunities to visit the university campus, complemented by you completing tasks in your own time to boost your experiences throughout the series. On the whole, the activities will be practical, interactive and valuable, giving you time to reflect on your strengths, areas to develop and set yourself targets for what you want to achieve.
The series is built around enhancing five core life skills, which employers, teachers and the university feel are the most important for young people to develop to give you the best opportunities in the future. You’ll learn more about these as part of the programme, but don’t worry, we know you already have a lot of strengths and experiences which make you who you are, and you will get plenty of chances to demonstrate and build up the talents you already possess.
