The Highly Skilled Employment Commitment (HSE) includes the following components:<\/p>\n
These 4 components were a direct result of primary consultation with students, employers, academics and secondary research of competitors and sector specialists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The 2017 Employability Plan established a basis for how this has grown, and continues to be strengthened in faculties through the Employability Partnership Agreements (EPAs).\u00a0 We continue to work within our\u00a0Employability Promise<\/a><\/strong> (a service level commitment) that every student will be prepared for highly skilled employment or further study upon graduation – delivered through an innovative, impactful and consistent employability offer<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n Each component part will be brought to life at every level of a course in a way that best meets the needs of that course and their students.\u00a0 Our students will be career ready.\u00a0 They will be exposed to employers in a safe and supported way. They will also develop their networks, apply their learning through a placement, be able to articulate their graduate attributes and have a series of digital skills. Developing a digital skills and learning pathway has many benefits to the students\u2019 learning and employability.<\/span><\/p>\n Digital Skills in Practice ensures that students have\u00a0<\/span>the necessary skills to effectively use different software, apps, tools and websites to facilitate learning, working and engaging with personal and social interests as well as developing a critical awareness around their own professional and personal, digital learning and identity.<\/p>\n Overview and Actions (.docx) The Career Readiness pathway of our new Employability Offer will provide Sheffield Hallam students with a personalised and <\/span>impactful programme, equipping them with career management and employability skills to create their own future success by supporting the transition through levels and into highly skilled employment<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n Career Readiness ensures that work experience makes sense to students. \n<\/strong>Courses should review what is meant by each component part (Work Experience, Digital skills, Career Readiness and Graduate Attributes).\u00a0 This information can be found in the documents entitled ‘HSE – Overview and Actions’ for each component part.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Teams should then evaluate their courses<\/span> through the completion of the <\/span>Course Review<\/strong>.\u00a0 The purpose of this is to appraise the HSE commitments against their current course and identify how\/if\/where they meet the requirements of the commitment along with identification of what changes need to be made.
