We have been privileged to work alongside our international student health facilitators. The photo shows our first group of faciliators, who helped us set up the project and contribute to its content and direction.
Since starting the project we have employed facilitators from different countries (including for example America, Malaysia, China, Germany) and from a variety of different courses.
The student educators were recruited and trained by Sexual Health Sheffield to ensure they have the confidence and skills to lead the classroom sessions. With their help, case studies, games, role play and quizzes were devised to guide students through discussions and reflections on sexual health, consent and contraception. The peer-to-peer delivery gives students a safe space to ask questions about personal relationships, consent and contraception, and makes the sessions more accessible.
