A major focus of Sheffield City Region (SCR) is to advance health and wellbeing for the region’s population. This includes improving health outcomes, developing the workforce and increasing business and industry’s investment in new and emerging health technologies.

Hallam has the skills, expertise and partnerships and we believe it is part of our civic duty to assist in SCR’s mission.

We know there is a large amount of activity already taking place but need to scope and understand the detail of what colleagues are already doing to demonstrate how we currently meet our civic role. It is only then we will be able to identify opportunities that position the university to attract students, staff and future civic funding.

The South Yorkshire Healthy Futures Programme Team has been commissioned to establish the work that is currently being undertaken internally that has a focus on health and wellbeing and a picture of what is happening within the region and nationally with a view to establish whether a programme should be set up to allow the University to drive forward the University’s health and wellbeing offer.

The programme team will focus on providing information to allow the University to make an informed decision on the priorities to take forward.
