This is as equally important as the other stages of the employee lifecycle to ensure that an employee leaves the University in the best way. The reasons for this are:
- feedback on employee experiences upon leaving provides useful and honest feedback to inform how we improve the experience for others
- whilst the employee may be leaving the University it is important to ensure a positive relationship remains in place where possible. This could have an impact on the University reputation as an employer and partnerships , and they may return in the future
- from a legal perspective there are various considerations e.g. data security
- to avoid issues with payroll e.g. overpayments, P45.
There are a number of different reasons why staff may be leaving i.e. resignation, retirement, end of fixed term contract .Whichever the reason the following process should be followed: ‘Completing Leavers Notification’
Exit Questionnaire
Once you have triggered the leaver process employees will be sent via the HR admin team a exit questionnaire to reflect on their overall experience of working at the University.
