Employees Leaving

This is as equally important as the other stages of the employee lifecycle to ensure that an employee leaves the University in the best way. The reasons for this are:

  • feedback on employee experiences upon leaving provides useful and honest feedback to inform how we improve the experience for others
  • whilst the employee may be leaving the University it is important to ensure a positive relationship remains in place where possible. This could have an impact on the University reputation as an employer and partnerships , and they may return in the future
  • from a legal perspective there are various considerations e.g. data security
  • to avoid issues with payroll e.g. overpayments, P45.

There are a number of different reasons why staff may be leaving i.e. resignation, retirement, end of fixed term contract .Whichever the reason the following process should be followed: ‘Completing Leavers Notification’

Exit Questionnaire
