Pay & Contract Changes

Employees are usually paid on the 18th of the month for the whole of the calendar month.

If there is any change to the pay of an employee you manage e.g. change of hours, leaver, you need to let HR know by the *27th of the previous month. Most changes are made via CORE manager requests.

CORE

The majority of staff at the University are paid on the single pay spine. This was negotiated in 2007 and broadly follows the nationally negotiated single pay spine. Increases on the single pay spine mirror national pay agreements, usually in August. In addition most staff are entitled to incremental progression annually.

Information on circumstances where employees might be entitled to additional pay, such as additional responsibility allowance, overtime and academic additional hours, are also available.
