Purpose of the proposed group
Supporting the professional and academic development of women of colour, and identifying ways to use our agency more politically.

Objectives of the proposed group

  • To support the emotional, professional and intellectual development of women of colour – especially new staff and staff new to teaching in HE (New staff)
  • To progress and navigate the institutions thinking about race in order to move towards a more strategic focus on authenticity and integrity within academia by feeding into initiatives and policies both institutional and sector wide
  • To work towards an evidence based approach to Race which is captured and evaluated within people development strategies and initiatives
