The University’s Applied Learning Academic Interest Group meets monthly, usually on Wednesday afternoons, as a community of enhancement.
We are an active community, sharing and developing good practice together towards enhancing the University’s understanding of applied learning.
For example, some of the topics we discuss and develop include,
- Personal & Professional Development Planning and its relationship with academic advising
- Curriculum design and evaluation
- The development of graduate attributes in and out of the taught curriculum
- Placement design and experience
- Student transition including this year’s special focus on the First Year Experience.
The community takes a generative approach – we make things as well as talk about them. For example, materials for this toolkit have been generated and reviewed by the forum and its members.
Contact us through this toolkit if you are interested in knowing more.
