This matches the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/governance-and-strategy\/strategy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University\u2019s strategic priorities<\/a>\u00a0for an \u2018applied curriculum\u2019 and gives us the essential idea of \u2018applied learning\u2019 as used in this resource.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Academics\u00a0took part in a generative activity using Herrington\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/authenticlearning.info\/AuthenticLearning\/Home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nine Principles for Authentic Learning<\/a>\u00a0as a framework (Herrington, 2009).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/graduatecapabilities\/files\/2019\/03\/Applied-learning-benefits-risks-enablers.pdf\">Applied Learning \u2013 benefits, risks and enablers<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 provide an applied learning approach structured according to student, academic and management
