{"id":3329,"date":"2023-01-26T11:58:26","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T11:58:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/goglobal\/?p=3329"},"modified":"2023-02-13T11:02:13","modified_gmt":"2023-02-13T11:02:13","slug":"international-teaching-week-at-sheffield-hallam-university-shu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/goglobal\/2023\/01\/26\/international-teaching-week-at-sheffield-hallam-university-shu\/","title":{"rendered":"International Teaching Week at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Sheffield, UK<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\">Department of Computing<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">International Teaching Week will take place from Monday 15 May 2023 to Friday 19 May 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Deadline to apply: 1 March 2023<\/p>\n<p>Computing Department at Sheffield Hallam university is running the first International Teaching week (ITW) for all undergraduate and postgraduate students from STEM subjects.<\/p>\n<p>Interested students must choose one of following modules which will be offered by guest lectures from our partner universities and complete the application form below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ITW is a face-to-face event and is free for students.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Modules\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Module 1: Personalisation in Human-Robot Interaction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Module Content:<br \/>\no Introduction to Human-Robot Interaction<br \/>\no The importance of personalizing the interaction<br \/>\no Different techniques to adapt the robot&#8217;s behaviour<br \/>\no Practical implementation in ROS<\/p>\n<p><strong>Module 2: Introduction to E-Commerce Analytics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022Module Content:<\/p>\n<p>o Describing the architecture of e-commerce<br \/>\no Using an open-source e-commerce system to setup a working shop<br \/>\no Explaining different web analytics approaches and their privacy and performance goals and capabilities<br \/>\no Designing and implementing a comprehensive e-commerce tracking solution<\/p>\n<p><strong>Module 3: Web Analytics and Metrics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Module Content:<\/p>\n<p>o Explain the basics of Web analytics and metrics and why data is so important in digital business<br \/>\no Creating a web metrics plan, implementing web tags, and triggers (Google Tag Manager)<br \/>\no Implementing and optimizing Google analytics (Google UA + GA4)<br \/>\no Appreciate the power of data, design for collecting data, and methods for optimising data (Google Data Studio)<\/p>\n<p>Credits: One module of study is 5 ECTS.<\/p>\n<p>Lessons will be held from Monday to Friday from about 9:00 to 17:00. Assessments for the modules will take place on Friday afternoon, and modules conclude within the week.<\/p>\n<p>All attendees will receive a certificate of completion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Travel<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There are numerous airports that international students can fly to: Manchester, East Midland, Leeds-Bradford, Birmingham, Liverpool are all within 1-1.5 hours train travel.
