Code of Conduct
- As a student on a trip organised by the International Experience team you will be representing Sheffield Hallam University.
- You bear a responsibility and a duty of care for your own safety and the safety of others affected by your actions.
- You should show consideration for, and behave appropriately within, the local community when representing the University.
- Make sure to follow the instructions of the instructors/ambassadors and to conform to all safety rules in force during the trip/event.
- During the trip/event, please be aware there is a chance the group return to Sheffield without you if you miss the allocated leaving time. You will be given a contact number at the start of the trip/event, please get in contact if you suspect you will be delayed. If you miss the return transport you will have to make your own way back to Sheffield.
- The University is predominately an adult environment. Under most circumstances, children are not allowed on campus. If permission is given for an event where children are welcome they should never be left unsupervised. For more information read the Children on University Premises Position Statement.
- In the event of a violation of this code of conduct, the Student Conduct policy of Sheffield Hallam University shall apply.
Purchase of Tickets
- If you wish to attend an event hosted by the International Experience team you are required to purchase a ticket using our website.
- All our events are run at-cost for the benefit the student community.
- By purchasing a ticket, you consent to us processing your data for the purpose of the event or ticket fulfilment and agree to us contacting you via email for the purpose of the event.
- This information will be stored securely, used for these stated purposes only, using the GDPR lawful basis of legitimate interest and held for 12 months, whereby it will be securely deleted. All of your data will be utilised in agreement with Sheffield Hallam University privacy policies.
Cancellations and Refunds
- Occasionally it may be necessary for us to cancel or reschedule a trip/event for various reasons. The International Experience team will endeavour to notify you of any event cancellation/rescheduling in good time in advance of the scheduled event date. However, in exceptional circumstances an event may be cancelled on the day.
- Once booked, trip/event tickets are non-refundable.
- However, where a paid ticketed trip/event is cancelled (and not rescheduled), you will be offered a refund of the sale price of your ticket(s).
Image Use
- During an event or activity organised and hosted by the International Experience team, images may by captured using digital photography or video to be used as promotional material on our website, social media pages and publicity materials.
- In this context, the International Experience team informs anyone taking part in GoGlobal events and activities that they may be photographed or filmed. Wherever possible and practical, individuals attending an trip/event where images are being captured will be made aware of this.
- If you have any objections to being photographed or filmed, please alert the photographer, staff or student ambassador.
