I have received my BRP but there was an error on it.

How will I be notified when the new one has arrived?

Student will have to fill up the online application for correction – Report a problem with your BRP online

 

If student could confirm that there is someone/themselves who can sign to receive the corrected BRP – the new BRP will be sent to their term time address.

 

If there are not able to confirm about the ability to have someone to sign for it – the university address will be used.

 

The standard processing time for a new BRP to be issues is 20 working days, however it could take up till a month.

 

Student will be able to find out roughly when will their BRP arrive as they will receive an email notifying the despatch along with courier tracking information.

How do I apply for a Schengen Visa?

I want to take a break in my studies – Refer to International (Tier 4) students – student need to fill out Complete an Absence Authorisation/Notification form. and send the form (& proof of flight tickets) to Hallam Help.

If the student is ill longer than a period of 3 days they should fill out & send the absence authorisation form.

If the absence is for 2 weeks or more HH send to the SSAs.

This is to ensure that student is not travelling/away during assessment period.

If student needs further support after signposting them to the information on the webpage – please send a case through to IET gen queue or book them into a 15-minute adviser appointment.
Am I allowed to work full time on my placement?

 

 

Can I still do my part-time job when I am on placement?

Student will only be allowed to work full time during placement if they are on an approved placement.
As this constitutes as part of the course.If student is wanting to work part-time along with placement, they will have to ensure that they placement provider is aware of it.If the placement provider agrees, student can work part-time in addition to their placement, up to a maximum of 20 hours per week (or the recommended 15 hours if working on campus at Hallam), but you MUST NOT reduce the hours of your placement to work part-time.Work Placement – International Students on Student visas

As I am on a standard visitor visa.

 

Student will need to apply for private insurance before they arrive in the UK.

I lost BRP
I forgot my BRP when travelling Abroad
I have lost my BRP/passport how do I get a replacement? If they require further advice – book them an IET adviser appointment

My passport is missing.

how do I apply for a new one?

If you have lost your passport, make an application for a replacement passport as soon as possible.

 

You should contact your country’s embassy, consulate, high commission, or passport office in the country where the loss or theft occurred for information on how to obtain a replacement passport.

 

It is possible that there may be a considerable wait to obtain a replacement passport or travel document.

 

This is not something which the Home Office nor the University can influence.

 

Completed Student

I am studying a work placement course, but I have been unable to secure a placement.
I have completed my course. I have received an email stating that my visa has been curtailed and the home office has been informed of my completion.What do I do in this case?Am I an overstayer?Does that mean I will have to apply for Post Study Visa as soon as possible?Or must I wait till my old visa runs out?
Student’s visa is still valid till they receive curtailment notice.

This is sent directly to the student by the Home Office through email.

Student will have a grace period of 60 days after the date of the curtailment notice to apply for another visa.

The last date to apply for another visa will be on the notice.

What is the graduate work visa for international students?

If a student is wanting the confirmation that their completion has been reported to the Home Office- let them know that Immigration Operations will be sending the confirmation to the Home Office and send an email confirmation to students once it’s been completed, it can take a few weeks after the student has completed for this to be confirmed. Rarely is this something that can expedited
