However, there are resources and help available to make the jump to international placements and exchanges that little bit easier. If you&#8217;re a home student studying abroad, then you can apply for travel grants, which can cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>up to 3 return journeys between your home and the overseas institution during a full academic year abroad<\/li>\n<li>help with essential expenses, medical insurance and travel visas<\/li>\n<li>travel costs if you&#8217;re part of a single parent family<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>This grant can therefore not only help to provide money for your general living costs, but also for travel to visit friends and family back home; this makes being away much more manageable, and helps the transition to international study to\u00a0be a lot less stressful.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Eligibility<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/goglobal\/files\/2014\/11\/paying-for-college.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-696\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/goglobal\/files\/2014\/11\/paying-for-college.jpg\" alt=\"paying-for-college\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You must attend an overseas institution for at least half of each academic term.
