{"id":3906,"date":"2017-03-02T11:59:17","date_gmt":"2017-03-02T11:59:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/global\/?p=3906"},"modified":"2017-03-02T11:59:17","modified_gmt":"2017-03-02T11:59:17","slug":"former-deputy-prime-minister-visits-sheffield-hallam-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/global\/former-deputy-prime-minister-visits-sheffield-hallam-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Deputy Prime Minister visits Sheffield Hallam University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former <strong>Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg<\/strong> visited <strong>Sheffield Hallam University<\/strong> on <strong>2 February<\/strong> to take part in a question and answer style event as part of a student project.<\/p>\n<p>Design student Jasmine Welsh set\u00a0up the event, held at Sheffield Institute of Arts, to support her project aimed at encouraging young people and students to show an interest in politics. <span style=\"color: black;font-family: Arial, sans-serif\">Jasmine organised and hosted the &#8216;Question Time&#8217; event featuring <strong>Nick Clegg<\/strong> (MP for\u00a0the Sheffield Hallam constituency),\u00a0alongside former Green Party leader <strong>Natalie Bennett<\/strong>, Labour MP <strong>Paul Blomfield<\/strong>, UKIP&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>David Kurten<\/strong> and <strong>Spencer Pitfield<\/strong>, Conservative spokesperson for South Yorkshire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Nick Clegg said: &#8220;Getting young people interested and engaged in politics is vitally important and Jasmine&#8217;s unique approach to the problem is refreshing.
