{"id":3169,"date":"2016-05-13T10:24:59","date_gmt":"2016-05-13T10:24:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/global\/?p=3169"},"modified":"2016-05-13T10:24:59","modified_gmt":"2016-05-13T10:24:59","slug":"student-health-mmr-vaccination-call","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/global\/student-health-mmr-vaccination-call\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Health &#8211; MMR vaccination call"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Public Health England<\/strong> and<strong> Universities UK<\/strong> are asking students to check that they have had two doses of the <strong>MMR<\/strong> vaccine in the past, following an increase in confirmed cases of measles over the past few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Students who have not received two doses of the vaccine in the past, or who are unsure, should speak to their GP. There&#8217;s no harm in receiving an additional dose if there is any uncertainty. Symptoms can include cold-like symptoms, sore red eyes, a high temperature or a red-brown blotchy rash.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Public Health England<\/strong> has published a blog <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/publichealthmatters.blog.gov.uk\/2016\/04\/27\/5-avoidable-health-threats-every-student-should-know-about\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span> on the avoidable health threats every student should know about.
