All Sheffield Hallam students can take part in SHSU Volunteering\u2019s One-Off programme<\/strong>. This allows you to take part in short term voluntary activities, meet the local community and have a great time while you\u2019re at it! To sign up, simply go\u00a0here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. We refund all travel expenses and food expenses where possible so there\u2019s nothing to lose \u2013 why not try out one of our exciting opportunities below?<\/p>\n

Sunday 8th<\/sup> May: Bucket Collection \u2013 Sheffield United v Scunthorpe
\n<\/strong>11.30am \u2013 2pm
\n<\/strong>Join local children\u2019s hospice Bluebell Wood as they raise money for their causes outside Sheffield United\u2019s football stadium. All volunteers will receive a free match ticket after their shift.<\/p>\n

Friday 20th<\/sup> May: Gardening \u2013 Young Women\u2019s Housing Project
\n<\/strong>10am \u2013 4pm
\n<\/strong>The Young Women\u2019s Housing Project look after survivors of sexual and domestic abuse. They are looking for volunteers to help with some gardening to create a welcoming atmosphere for the women housed on site. Please note that this opportunity is open to self-defining women only.<\/p>\n

Friday 20th<\/sup> May, Saturday 21st<\/sup> May, Sunday 22nd<\/sup> May: Boccia England Competition
\n<\/strong>9am \u2013 5pm
\n<\/strong>The authority for the Paralympic sport of Boccia are looking for students to assist with their national competitions which are taking place in Sheffield. You will be involved with timekeeping and scoring. Full training will be provided on the day, and no knowledge of the sport is required. All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and lunch!<\/p>\n

Saturday 28th<\/sup> May & Sunday 29th<\/sup> May: Abbeydale Picture House community day
\n<\/strong>10am \u2013 4pm
\n<\/strong>Join members of the local community as they work to restore the Abbeydale Picture House, a 100 year old cinema \u00a0in the heart of Sheffield\u2019s Antiques Quarter. This is a great chance to be involved with the community and to see an important part of Sheffield\u2019s history up close!<\/p>\n

Saturday 28th<\/sup> May: Taste Moor event volunteers
\n<\/strong>10am \u2013 4pm
\n<\/strong>Taste Moor is a food festival taking place on The Moor in Sheffield. Volunteers will take part in demonstrations, activities and other stewarding duties to assist the smooth running of this vibrant, fun festival!<\/p>\n

Monday 20th<\/sup> \u2013 Sunday 26th<\/sup> June: Refugee Week at Theatre Deli
\n<\/strong>Various shifts available
\n<\/strong>Theatre Delicatessen in Sheffield is hosting an exciting week of events for Refugee Week. Volunteers will assist with the running of events and will have the chance to be part of an exciting series of activities with people from all over the world!<\/p>\n
