Leads the\u00a0International Student Support Team and is responsible for the strategic development of the services, staff and financial planning and management,\u00a0and initiating collaborations within the University and the local community.<\/p>\n

“I come from Sofia, Bulgaria and have lived in the UK since 2003.\u00a0<\/em>I spend my free time with my three-year old son, mostly playing in\u00a0Endcliffe Park<\/a>. When at home, our most favourite game is\u00a0musical statues<\/a>\u00a0to Guido Belcante’s music (my son’s choice!).

I love reading and watching TV. The last book I really enjoyed was Aminatta Forna’s\u00a0The Memory of Love<\/a>\u00a0about post-war Sierra Leone, and I am a big fan of\u00a0The Killing<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Borgen<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>I also love knitting, sewing and all things crafty, so this January I joined a\u00a0craft and design co-operative<\/a>\u00a0to meet new friends with similar interests.”<\/em><\/p>\n

I help to run a local group for children called\u00a0Woodcraft Folk<\/a>. I also love reading, travelling to new places, and trying out new\u00a0foods<\/a>. To relax, I do\u00a0yoga<\/a>, go\u00a0swimming<\/a>\u00a0or do something creative.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am from\u00a0New Delhi, India<\/a>\u00a0and have lived in the UK since 2005. Like most Indians I love cricket, Bollywood and Punjabi music! I also enjoy reading, travelling, spending time with friends and dancing. I am a big fan of American sitcoms, the Harry Potter series and\u00a0Madhuri Dixit<\/a>. Besides my day job, I volunteer as Hindu faith advisor for students and staff at both Universities.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am originally from a small Yorkshire town called\u00a0Pontefract<\/a>. I love watching a football team called Everton and have travelled all around the UK and Europe to see them lose.\u00a0 I also enjoy listening to an American rock band called\u00a0Guided by Voices<\/a>, travelling and meeting new people from around the world.\u00a0 I play the guitar, watch television and have a twin brother called Richard.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Assists with the delivery of international student support services; develops and maintains a range of printed publications and websites for international students. Co-ordinates the Culture Connect peer mentoring scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I completed my undergraduate degree\u00a0at SHU and\u00a0I am currently\u00a0studying a postgraduate course in\u00a0Coaching and Mentoring at the faculty of SBS.<\/em>\u00a0I enjoy learning new things, reading journals and listening to lectures on my iPod.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

In my spare time I like to go\u00a0walking for miles through the countryside with\u00a0Sheffield Walking Group<\/a>, especially through\u00a0Edale<\/a>\u00a0and around the\u00a0Ladybower Reservoir<\/a>. I enjoy keeping fit at\u00a0Sheffield Hallam Active<\/a>\u00a0gym, attending SHU\u00a0yoga<\/a>\u00a0classes and\u00a0riding on my exercise bike while watching TV soaps. Every Wednesday lunchtime I relax with some mindful meditation at\u00a0SHU Multifaith Centre<\/a>. I like eating\u00a0vegetarian food and learning how to cook more adventurous dishes.\u00a0 I get joy out of visiting new places, for example recently I went to\u00a0Yorkshire Wildlife Park<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Heeley City Farm<\/a>. As well as attending the odd\u00a0nightclub event<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0dance festival<\/a>\u00a0to unwind.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“In my spare time I like to explore new places which combines my favourite hobbies together; walking, trying new foods and photography. I do this with my friends and we try to go travelling which we recently went to\u00a0Amsterdam<\/a>. Also, I like to enjoy spending time with family, improving my mandarin by attending\u00a0evening school<\/a>\u00a0and playing badminton regularly.”<\/em><\/p>\n
