In order to carry out essential maintenance to equipment on the University’s High Voltage network we need to isolate power to ALL AREAS of the following buildings:
- Owen (including Main Reception, Security Control, Peak Lecture Theatre, Hallam Hall, Chef Hallam and Hallam View)
- Norfolk (including Club Hallam)
- Cantor Building
- Adsetts Building
- Eric Mensforth Building
We have initially agreed with the University’s High Voltage service provider to carry out these works on Thursday 27th December 2018.
Each building will be isolated individually and we expect the maximum power outage to Owen, Norfolk, Cantor and Adsetts to be in the region of 1 – 2 hours and the Eric Mensforth Building to be 4 – 5 hours.
The only power available during this time will be emergency lighting and we, therefore, advise that no students or members of the public be allowed into these areas at this time. Staff presence should also be limited to critical operations only.
