So this week’s winning picture for Lockdown loves was from Louise Walsh – this is their family cat enjoying all of the creature comforts we get up and work for every day so that they can live in the lap of luxury they have become accustomed to!
And here are the other submissions for our picture competition… Pets are the best!
Escape Rooms!
Debbie Warr has recommended an online escape room suitable for kids aged 7-10 which is only £3.50 to play. Debbie, Jim and the kids are hopefully going to try it at some point this week and thought others with children may be interested: https://www.codebusters.co.uk/the-lost-diamond – Thanks Debbie!
BeRo Cooking!
Sandra Kaye has been in touch to let us know that she has been baking using her Mum’s BeRo cookbook from 1948…which you only use tea spoons and tablespoons to measure out your recipes… on the recommendations list were:
- Rich vanilla biscuits
- Butterfly buns
- Scones
You can purchase a copy of the legendary cook book (not Sandras mum’s) for the bargain price of £2.99 here! Thanks Sandra!
My hips and taste buds will thank you later I’m sure!
Coffee
So with the news that we are most likely looking at a early winter return to the office I have been getting my coffee fix in other ways… for those of you who love a flavoured coffee the Beanies Range it’s fab at 2 cals a cup (black) its a great alternative to syrups and in particular the Irish Coffee and the Double Chocolate are excellent.
Steer well clear of the Cherry Bakewell!!!
Treat boxes and bakes
If you are looking for something special maybe a treat for the family or for the kids or if you’re like me all for yourself (ha) Kezwink Cakes in Dronfield is amazing – her brownies are to die for, she is a little independent baker offering contactless treat and brownie boxes from £9 and she also does some fabulous celebration cakes too!
