Finance & Planning Wellbeing Champion

As part of the Healthy Hallam, Healthy Future programme that the University is launching we have been asked for local representatives to be advocates for health and wellbeing within local areas. Your Finance and Planning Champion is me – Liz Windle.

I will be supporting the work that the University will be doing in promoting three main areas:

  • Supporting the University’s calendar of wellbeing activities (events, campaigns and workshops)
  • Signposting staff to information and support services
  • Proposing cost effective ideas for improvements
I will also be here to support you in accessing the resources that you may need to support improving your health and wellbeing or to cope with acute and chronic health problems whilst at work. The most important thing I am here for is you – if there is anything you need to talk about I can help. Whether this be someone to listen or to point you in the right direction the important thing is that you have help and back up if you need it.

There is going to be a network of champions across the University and we will publish this list in case you want to talk to someone but someone who is not necessarily in your area.

I will be sending more information out over the next few weeks about the role and how it can help you but what I would like initially is ideas from you. One of the directorates has a wellbeing Wednesday once a month where people take an hours lunch and do activities or just eat your lunch away from your desk. So if there is anything you can suggest please let me know.

The first major event in the calendar will be the University’s mental health day on the 7th of March so watch out for events coming soon.

You can be as involved in this as you want to be, it is a tool for you to use as and when you need it.
