Abbeydale Picture House – Creative Arts Development Space (CADS) Charity
In the run up to our away day I thought I’d share a bit more information with you about the charity that is currently running the restoration project.
Nick Potter is the project co-ordinator and will be helping and guiding us on 13th July. Nick works for CADS, who took on a long term lease for the Picture House in January 2017. The restoration project consists of two stages:
- Short term restoration, space-hire and events
- Long term restoration and Heritage
CADS, based in Sheffield is formed of a charity CADS Trust and its wholly owned, subsidiary trading arm, CADS Space.
CADS Trust uses the profits form CADS Space and money raised through external funding or fundraising to achieve its three core aims: to provide, support and promote the arts.
Go to the Abbeydale Picture House website to find out more about CADS’ background and their plans for the restoration of Picture House.

Window improvement works across campus
Between now and 18 June contractors will be on site applying a safety film to windows across City and Collegiate Campuses. On completion, the the film will go through a ‘curing process’ and this can take up to 8 weeks. During this time, you may see some bubbles. This is normal and the bubble should be left alone, not pushed, pined etc. These bubbles will dry out during the curing process. You can see the full schedule of works here.
