University Mental Health Day is the national campaign to focus efforts on promoting the mental health of people who live, work and study in Higher Education settings
With a theme this year of Community, the aims are to:
- improve awareness of support, and promote a sense of belonging
- improve understanding of the role the environment and community can play in protecting mental health
- raise awareness of the challenges that students face with regards to support for their mental health

What’s happening in the University?
There will be stands at City Campus (Atrium, level 2) and Collegiate Campus (Heart of the Campus, ground floor). Make a pledge and get ideas about how to connect to your local community.
- A guided cycle ride to Meadowhall along the 5 rivers path using the yellow Ofo bikes – 10 March.
- Johnny Benjamin tells the amazing story of ‘The Stranger on the Bridge’, about how a stranger saved his life, and what happened next. This is a free event on 1 March at 6.30pm. Book your tickets here.
