Afternoon everyone, so I’m back with my bi weekly bit of fluff and general stuff.
So what’s changed since the last blog? We’ve officially reached that annoying time of the year where it’s jumper weather in the morning, but by midday on our dinner we’re dying of heat stroke, although, granted, a little earlier than anticipated.
I’ve noticed a few out in town still clinging onto summer… give it up people put your flippers away and get a coat on, autumn is here and soon spiced pumpkin lattes!
Oh yeah and there is that little thing I nearly forgot to mention, the University will soon spring back to life full of Freshers eager to get going… to the pub!
Professional Services Operating Model (PSOM)
This week the Finance and Planning leadership Forum met and discussed the Phase One Executive Report from the PSOM project and what it means to us at this stage. There is a whole plethora of materials on phase one of the project on the intranet including a video from Richard Calvert and the PSOM 2020 vision. Check it all out here.
If you have any questions about the project you can email the team here.

On yer bike!
Here at SHU we recognise the great health benefits of cycling and support several initiatives to get people on their bikes.
The University is taking part in Cycle September; a fun, free competition to see which workplace can get the most people riding a bike. There’s lots of exciting prizes up for grabs too! Everyone can take part – it doesn’t matter if you ride every day or haven’t been on a bike in years – and you can ride anytime, anywhere. Find out more and register here.
If you are interested but not so confident on a bike the University also run free courses on cycling proficiency, you may have also seen Bike Rehab carrying out free bike checks around the university too! For more information on the scheme and our cycling facilities visit the FD Pages.
