So as some of you may have heard you have a new chief blogger! Here to serve you up some bite sized chunks of updates, news and events in our esteemed Friday Feeling – I’m not going to go on too much about my feelings of being slightly overwhelmed or intimidated after such a wonderful 12 months of blogging from Gemma but it’s safe to say they’re real, so I’ll dive right in!

So for those of you in the Finance processing teams you will be breathing out a sigh of relief, e5 is back and touch wood everything went off without a hitch, for management accounts though the work has just begun preparing us for P1. Rain.. what rain? nothing stops a Great British BBQ!

Changes to the ULT and the slides from the University Strategy Update
This week the VC announced that Karen Bryan and Paul Harrison will be leaving the University to move onto pastures new with Karen joining The University of Greenwich from November to be Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) .

Now you can view historic absence online…
You may have spied in this weeks e-view that there are changes to absence reporting. From Monday next week you will be able to view absence in core including historic absences which have been processed such as maternity and paternity leave

FD Family Fun Day
The FD Family Fun Day was a roaring success showing the appetite for free fun days out with the kids, with staff and budding new students (albeit a few years off yet) attending the day in their droves with over 1000 reported. The Star gave a us a great write up catch it here.

Who are ya? Who are ya? It’s that time of the year again… Football is back!
Saturday sees the return of the League 1 Champions The Blades who face Brentford at home, their first match back in the championship, and The Owls take on Preston North End away at Deepdale. I’ve included the fixtures in the links above.
This year the University is supporting the Special Olympics National Summer Games 2017 at venues across the city. Tickets are priced at £8 for Adults, £6 for Disabled and £5 for Students / Under 16.
Car enthusiasts! Get yourself down to The Moor which will play host to a plethora of classic cars on Sunday 6th August.
Clumber Park and Chill, anyone?? This weekend Clumber Park host The National Heritage Summer Nights Film Festival.
It’s the first weekend of the month so that means Peddler Food Market at Kelham Island.
