BIS are now Strategic Portfolio and Business Change

As of Monday BIS had a new structure and a new name – they are now Strategic Portfolio and Business Change.

These changes more accurately reflect the team’s role and purpose and enable them to better support the delivery of the University Strategy.

Next Tuesday this blog, and all other SHU blogs will be unavailable as DTS upgrade us to a newer version of WordPress. Please let us or DTS (ext 3333) know after the upgrade if you are having any issues with the blog.

FD – Making a Difference

FD are inviting nominations from colleagues across the University for their Customer Improvement award, part of their annual Making a Difference programme.  Recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievement and excellent performance from FD staff .

The deadline for nominations is Friday, 21 July, and you can fill in the form found below.

Strategy Updates

The VC is holding some strategy update sessions and FPLT would like to encourage everyone to attend one if they can.

These are being held on the following days:

  • Friday 14 July, 1:00-2:00pm, Stoddart lecture theatre, City Campus
  • Thursday 20 July, 12:30-1:30pm, Heart of the Campus lecture theatre, Collegiate Campus
  • Thursday 27 July, 12:00-1:00pm, Pennine lecture theatre, City Campus

SHU Wellness

If you have never attended, or are long overdue your SHU wellness health check – now is the time to go! They are free and the assessors are great – you can pick and choose what tests you would like to do, or just have a chat with them.

They have good availability for later in this month and August – book by emailing them.

What’s on?

This month on the social calendar we have 2 events coming up:

• 16 July – Let’s Ride, a family cycling event in the city centre. A few members of the Directorate are taking part. If you are interested in finding out a bit more please contact Bernie Marshall or Gary Allen.

• 28 July – Summer BBQ at the Leopold Hotel, with drinks, food and entertainment…!

Cliffhanger

Last week we mentioned that Cliffhanger would be taking over the city centre this weekend. I have found out that if you go along you will be able to take part in lots of different activities featuring…

  • a freefall airdrop in Town Hall Square
  • a zipwire over Barkers Pool
  • scuba pool in the Peace Gardens
