The Friday Feeling – 16/06/2017

Friday

 The VC’s Blog

In this week’s blog post the VC talks about the election and about how nervous the foxes might have been on election night.

Charles Street Lift Maintenance

Maintenance work will begin on Monday 19 June on three of the four lifts in Charles Street.  This work is expected to last until Monday 31 July.

If you have booked a room in Charles Street during this period you may find that your booking has been changed to a room on a lower floor.  This is to minimise lift usage.  Also, all room bookings in Charles Street have been put on hold during this time.  Any catering requests may also have been moved.

Please call the helpdesk on x4444 to check catering or multi-skilled bookings and contact timetabling for any room bookings queries.

Charity Football Tournament

A University wide football tournament in aid of Cavendish Cancer Care will take place on Friday 23 June at the SHU Sports Park.  Open to all University staff and students the tournament costs £50 per team of 7 to enter and all proceeds go to Cavendish Cancer Care.

For those who want to enter but can’t get to the Sports Park for 4.30pm, please email Melissa Woodhouse who will schedule a later match for you.

The deadline for entries has been extended to 5pm, Monday 19 June.

Herd of Sheffield

Last Summer lots of us had a great time following the elephant trail around Sheffield.  On Monday night Sheffield Childrens’ Hospital officially unveiled the life saving equipment that the Herd of Sheffield enabled them to buy.  Find out more about it here.
