Yesterday I sent out a mail looking for some willing participants for a BBC 5 Live Broadcast for their ‘Marginal Mystery Tour’ which was from Tudor Square yesterday.
Our very own procurement specialist Liz Wallington put herself forward and she has shared some pictures and words with us. You can also listen to what she had to say here (fast forward to about 1hr10).
Yesterday we all got an e mail asking if we’d like to be on the radio and I thought “yeah, why not, you’ve got to do everything once” and I put my name forward.
So, before I knew it I was sitting outside the Crucible being interviewed about my political views by Anna Foster from Radio 5!
Basically they’d managed to find a Conservative, a Labour and a Green voter and we all had a little informal chat about the upcoming election. I was a bit apprehensive – I’m hardly the most politically well informed person – but I ended up saying a bit about school funding, a bit about the abolition of tuition fees and I even got something in about Sheffield Hallam University widening participation!
It was fun, interesting and one more thing off my bucket list.
