Hi everyone,
Happy end of week everyone (or beginning of week depending on when you are reading this!)
Top news this week is that the blog is now a password free zone! I can hear your cries of joy from here!
We have taken on board all of your feedback and this should make it much more accessible.
This week Andrew Howard kindly pointed out an article to me on the etiquette of the office tea round. It makes for an interesting read, whether you are a tea drinker or not – we have all observed the tea rounds in action! Click on the photo to take you there.
Coast2Coast
The Coast2Coast spin challenge is this Tuesday – we still have some spots on the bike at half 1 and 2pm, and the more the merrier in terms of collecting money!
You can read our posts about it here and here.
Volunteering Survey
This is your last chance to complete the survey and to let us know which Volunteering Days you would most like to take part in from our shortlist. The survey closes on Sunday – so complete it now!
Team Brief Feedback
Your manager should have sent you our feedback form on the Team Brief, it will only take a few minutes to complete – and your thoughts will make a difference to future team briefs.
Comic Relief in Finance
Next Friday Ros Wastnidge is coordinating some fundraising for Comic Relief. She has done this since 2009 – and this year you will be able to buy some homemade bakes from 9:30am, you can show your support for the cause by wearing red for a £1 donation, and you can take part in the song sweepstake £2 (with the chance to win £30!).
We transform lives…
…and we do this by leading locally and engaging globally, by shaping futures, creating knowledge and by building a great university. Everyone in Finance, by doing your daily job – makes a difference, and contributes to transforming lives.
Over the next few weeks our FPLT team will be letting you know a bit more, so keep an eye on your inbox.
The Outdoor City Weekender
This weekend in Sheffield is the Outdoor City Weekender, by clicking the link you can find out more about what’s happen. A highlight will be the Howard Street Dual (AKA Steel City Dual Slalom) will be taking place on Saturday. Cyclists will be competing in a unique dual slalom mountain bike race, two at a time, down a course in an exhilarating knockout-style event – right by Hallam Square!
A report by SHU was also referenced in the Guardian in an article about the Outdoor City Weekender.
The VC’s Blog
This week VC Chris Husbands blog is all about The Hallam Fund campaign – being run by our Alumni team and some specially selected student ambassadors, you can find out more about it here.
What else this week?
