World Book Day 2017

world book day

You raised an amazing £180!!

This is £120 for Amy’s House and £60 for Book Aid International. The £60 for Book Aid International is enough to buy 30 children’s books for a mobile library, and the £120 for Amy’s House takes our total so far to £3,221.46.

We had an excellent day with a lot of you popping over to Oneleven to peruse our booky and cakey wares.

After walking in on Thursday morning with my wizadry clobber on and thinking I was the only one, I was happy to see quite a few of you made the effort with a costume or a hat!

Bernie from Directorates Management Accounts won the £5 WHSmiths gift voucher for the best dressed, with her creative take on a book name instead of a book character – as ‘The Colour Purple’. Even down to her earrings and make up – everything was purple. Well done Bernie!

The left over books can now be found in Oneleven in our ‘Lending Library’, if you want to borrow or buy a book please feel free – and just pop a small donation in the charity jar. If you have any books you are looking to get rid of – please add them to the shelf!

Thanks to all of you who donated, baked and bought!
