Carl McLennan wanted to update you all on the work he has done on his action so over to him…
Over the past few months I have been working on my action from the action plan which was ‘To explore how managers pledges can be embedded into the directorate so they can be used on a day to day basis’.
I started by chatting with various different managers around Finance and their teams to get their thoughts on how we could embed our Pledges, before getting the opinion of our Engagement Champions.
The main thing that became apparent was that members of the Directorate felt that the Pledges should be 2 way, and it shouldn’t just be about Managers committing to act in certain ways, it should set standards that the whole team can work to. The ‘Manager’s Pledge’ has therefore been renamed the ‘Engagement Pledge’. This is a commitment made by leaders/managers in the Finance Directorate in partnership with their team. In effect, the Engagement Pledge is a team pledge.
I recently went along to an LICC meeting where I had the opportunity to share my thoughts and findings on how we can embed our Engagement Pledges, and I now wanted to share them with all of you. You can find more detail by clicking for the Guidelines and Template, if you have any questions or feedback leave a comment or send me an email.
Thanks
Carl
