Welcome to the Early Years Teacher Status course at Sheffield Hallam University.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Head of Area for 0-5 Teacher Education courses at Sheffield Hallam University. I am looking forward to working with you and I hope to offer you an enjoyable, motivating and rewarding experience throughout the duration of your course. You’ll be part of a tightly-knit and supportive course that is delivered in a range of ways, including online and face-to-face teaching including seminars, workshops, tutorials and off-site opportunities if possible. Our Entry Pathway and Employed Pathway are taught together, bringing a diverse range of trainees together who share a common goal, and a range of skills to help and support each other along the way. As a practically based course, your setting/school-based training will take place with some of the excellent early years providers that are part of the Partnership, and within your workplace if you are on the Employed pathway. Your setting/school-based training will afford you the opportunity to work alongside expert practitioners in their settings, and opportunities to observe practice in less familiar environments to deepen and broaden your experience. The Sheffield Hallam routes to EYTS continue to be highly valued in the region, and 100% of our students are employed in settings and schools within 6 months of graduating.
The Early Years team and I wish you all the best with your course and look forward to supporting your journey towards the award of EYTS.
Kind regards,
Lynne Truelove
