You may have noticed builders and contractors busying themselves outside the main entrance to the Owen Building on City Campus in the former Blackwells Bookshop. This is because they’ve been creating a new Careers and Employability Centre for our students, which will open on Monday 23 September. There will be a week of launch events from 7-11 October which will include tours, workshops and presentations from employers to encourage students to participate in additional activities and enhance their employability whilst at the University.
The new building will provide space for our Careers service and other teams to deliver the University’s employability offering and will offer a drop-in space for students to job search and gather advice. Upstairs there is a large workshop space and several small interview rooms.
Over the next few weeks more information will be given about the soft launch and associated activities. If you would like additional information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org about the launch, or speak to Bernie Gregory in the Careers and Employment service (0114 225 2179 / email@example.com ) about the new Centre.
