Please feel free to use the new quiet room anytime you need a break away from your desk, phones and noise. This is a non-bookable room and should not be used for meetings or work-related activities. Please find below guidance from LICC:
An item raised for discussion at Septembers’ LICC meeting was a proposal for establishing ‘do not disturb’ time for staff, which complements our well-being initiatives in the directorate. We’ll be discussing this further at the next LICC meeting. To support colleagues in combatting feelings of stress, and perhaps in need of some reflection time the now vacant SIP office, 20.0.03 in 20 Furnival Street, has been transformed into our new ‘quiet room’. A more relaxing environment has been created there, and we encourage you to pop down and use the room if you are in need of some restorative peace and quiet, and a refuge from the surroundings that we all work in.
It’s a non-bookable room and is an ideal space for quiet contemplation, practicing mindfulness, meditation, reading, or just enjoying a hot beverage and relaxing. It’s not an extra space for meetings, work – related issues and conversations please. So, maybe take some time out for yourself if you’re feeling stressed?
