Welcome to the Faculty of Development and Society, part of Sheffield Hallam University.

With around 12,000 students and 700 staff, the Faculty of Development and Society is the largest in the University.

We have two campuses, City Campus, our main site and Collegiate Campus, which is about 20 minutes’ walk from the city centre, in the popular student area around Ecclesall Road.

We carry out teaching, research and knowledge transfer across a range of subject areas, including courses, research and services to business in • architecture • built environment • criminology and community justice • education • English • environment • film, theatre and performance • forensics • geography • history • law • planning, regeneration and housing • psychology • sociology and politics • teacher education.

The faculty brings together academic departments, five internationally renowned research centres and a graduate school.
