Professional Skills for Research Leadership – career development opportunity, open to all Doctoral Students and Early Career Researchers in Social Science disciplines

White Rose DTP/Social and Economic Research Institute

As part of Sheffield Hallam University’s participation in the White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership, and in conjunction with the Social and Economic Research Institute, we are delighted to announce two-days of workshops designed to provide students and early career researchers with the skills required to move beyond successful PhD completion to building a career in the social sciences.  As part of these workshops, we will explore:

  • Finding funding opportunities, securing grants and delivering research projects
  • Getting published, sharing your research and navigating the REF
  • Developing a communications strategy and pathways to Impact
  • Careers paths in academia and beyond

The workshops will be delivered by a range of established academics across social science disciplines at Sheffield Hallam University (including education, social policy, criminology, housing studies and sociology), as well as featuring external speakers sharing their knowledge and experiences.

All sessions will be delivered live via Zoom.
