We have been advised of an exciting opportunity to undertake meaningful paid work, translating your research into high-quality teaching resources for school students and helping school pupils from under-represented backgrounds to realise their academic potential.

This is a programme collaboration between HeppSY and the AccessEd education charity.  The ‘Research-Based Curriculum’ (RBC) programme supports local pupil attainment and university progression by providing classroom resources on cutting-edge research to local state schools through HeppSY.

Researchers will be trained to create their own subject coursebook for 11-14 year olds, allowing them to turn their research subject into a series of exciting short modules and activities.

Through training, researchers will:

•       Develop valuable transferable skills

•       Learn to communicate and pitch their research to younger audiences

•       Support under-represented local students in their educational journey

•       Earn a stipend of £400

Inviting Maths, English and Science related PhDs for this programme round.

2021 Programme Dates:

28 March:   Application deadline

28 April:   Training day

30 May:   RBC coursebook final draft submission
