Notification of acceptance: Doctoral students will be notified via email on Wednesday 20th February whether their abstract has been accepted.

Guidance for poster-preparation: Successful student delegates will be provided with instructions, including details of the marking criteria, to aid their poster preparation. There will be a drop-in workshop session, in room HC 0.34 (Heart of the Campus, Collegiate Crescent) Thursday 28th February (12:00pm – 14:00pm) to aid poster design and presentation.

NB – Due to it being a competition, guidance can only be provided on the formatting of the poster and not in respect of any of the marking criteria.

Submission of posters for printing: Posters should be sent by email to Jill Dickinson (jill.dickinson@shu.ac.uk) before 1st April 2019 at 6pm. There will be no cost for printing the posters; instead, the posters will be printed centrally and will be displayed on poster boards by the conference organisers at the event itself.

Presentation opportunity: There will also be limited spaces for doctoral students to present their research through an electronic presentation. When submitting an abstract please state your interest in this opportunity.

Academic contacts: Each doctoral student delegate is encouraged to invite two academic contacts to the event and may wish to consult with their supervisory team as to who this should be. Please note that all delegates will need to cover their own expenses in relation to travel, subsistence, accommodation etc for attending the event. It will not be possible for such expenses to be reimbursed.

Registration: All doctoral students and other delegates are required to register by Monday 1st April 2019 by emailing Jill Dickinson (jill.dickinson@shu.ac.uk).

Prizes: There will several prizes awarded for the best posters which consider the originality and intended contribution of the work, whether this be theoretical, applied or both. Alongside these, the posters will be judged for their clarity, structure, visual impact, quality of references used and innovation.
