Research Staff Induction, 9-11am, 12 December

The Research and Innovation Office (RIO) is hosting an induction event on 12 December for members of academic and research staff who have recently joined the University or returned to research.

The aims of the session are for new starters to discover the support and resources available from across the University, meet other new colleagues and hear insights from senior academics.

The event will be opened by Professor Wayne Cranton – Dean of Research who will introduce the University’s Creating Knowledge Implementation Plan (CKIP). This will be followed by small-table discussions around different aspects of support available to researchers and will close with Professor Nicola Woodroofe – Head of the Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre sharing insights into a research career at Hallam.

Further details of the event can be accessed here, please register if you would like to attend and direct any enquiries to Elizabeth Scanlon via shard@shu.ac.uk

We plan to repeat the event twice per year and there will be an online guide available soon with information relevant to starting at the university in a research-related role. For updates, you can subscribe to the shard blog https://blogs.shu.ac.uk/shard/
