Whole-course assessment: a course-focus approach to designing and planning assessment
Led by: Emeritus Professor Mike Bramhall
Wednesday 27th March 2019, 3pm – 5pm
Location: Charles Street 12.5.08
Whole-course assessment as part of course planning and design can help facilitate a more coherent student experience through meaningful and progressive learning skills, competencies and the application of knowledge (Gibbs & Dunbar-Goddet, 2007).
This course-focused approach to assessment is regaining popularity in the UK HE sector, due to work of Graham Gibbs and others which highlights its positive influence on student learning. This session will examine the design and benefits of whole-course assessment based on illustrative examples, and offer an opportunity for participants to explore how this might apply to courses they are involved in.
This session is open to all however, course and module leaders may find it of particular benefit! Book your place here.
