The UK Packaging Awards 15th edition has been announced and we are pleased to share the exciting news that our very own Design Futures Packaging<\/strong> have been nominated in three categories.\u00a0 These prestigious awards have been rewarding organisations, teams and individuals for over a decade and will continue to do so in 2020 and beyond.<\/p>\n

The Awards Ceremony will be held on 21st<\/sup> October at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, the event\u2019s popularity has grown enormously in recent years and now attracts more than 800 people from across the packaging supply chain. People come to celebrate the best products and achievements in the company of the industry\u2019s leading experts.<\/p>\n

We were voted \u2018Design Team of the Year\u2019<\/strong> in 2015, 2017 and 2019, we have been shortlisted in the same category for 2020. This nomination is based on our work for numerous local businesses as well as our national design work and our support for research projects.<\/p>\n

The team has also been nominated for a further two awards:<\/p>\n

\u201cCartonboard Pack of the Year\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong>This was a project we undertook for a longstanding Sheffield based tuning fork manufacturer Uniplex. They were delighted with our work and we enjoyed working closely with them, here\u2019s what their Marketing Manager had to say about the experience;<\/p>\n

“Working with [REDACTED] was a complete pleasure. Their team of expert designers created a stunning piece of packaging that echoed our marketing message to our customers. The innovative packaging has giv<\/i>en our Ragg Tuning Fork range a USP over our competition by creating a premium image that our product needed to stand out in the market-place.”\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cResource Efficient Pack of the Year\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"This was an innovative and exciting project for leading pet product producer \u201cCompany of Animals\u201d. We provided structural packaging design for their range of over 800 product lines and designed out all non-sustainable packaging materials replacing them with environmentally responsible alternatives.<\/p>\n

As well as producing packs that look great and work well the environmental savings have been significant. Across the whole project, more than 1,200,000 plastic packs have been replaced with sustainable alternatives within the first 9 months of introduction to market.<\/p>\n
