In his editorial, &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14606925.2019.1634448\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">It&#8217;s getting better all the time<\/a>&#8216;, editor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/paul-atkinson\">Prof Paul Atkinson<\/a> look back on our past experiences through the lens of the increased understanding that comes with age. He sees design as a key route through which we learn from past experiences, and strive to improve. The papers in this issue tackle this continual growth and progress.<\/p>\n<p>The issue includes a review by\u00a0Lab4Living researcher Rebecca Partridge of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14606925.2019.1629777\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i>Designing for Society: Products and Services for a Better World<\/i>, by Nynke Tromp and Paul Hekkert<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Design Journal has posted a <a href=\"https:\/\/think.taylorandfrancis.com\/the-design-journal-smart-textiles\/?utm_source=TFO&amp;utm_medium=cms&amp;utm_campaign=JOG10509\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">call for papers for a special themed section on Smart Textiles<\/a>, to be guest edited by Prof Julian Malins from the University of Dundee.
