Taking place this week in Canberra, Australia, Living Longer, Living Well<\/em> <\/a>is a design symposium\u00a0co-creating innovative approaches to Australia’s ageing population. Lab4Living<\/a>‘s\u00a0Dr Claire Craig<\/a>\u00a0will be speaking at the event during her visit with researcher Helen Fisher<\/a>‘s visit to Australia and New Zealand this month where they begin a programme of engagement in the research and establishing research collaborations with colleagues from a range of different sectors. The symposium promises to provide an interrogation into the wider questions posed by\u00a0Lab4Living<\/a>‘s 100-Year Life project<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The symposium will be held on Wednesday 11 September 2019 at\u00a0ThinkPlace<\/a>\u2019s Canberra Design studio, and\u00a0is divided into three distinct parts: A\u00a0roundtable\u00a0for senior leaders,\u00a0co-creation workshop\u00a0for those working across the sector and a\u00a0masterclass\u00a0for those working as designers in the health or allied systems.<\/p>\n

The symposium will feature:<\/p>\n

Dr Claire Craig<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0– Reader in Design and Creative Practice in Health at the Sheffield Hallam University and Co-Director of Lab4Living. Claire is also editor of new Taylor & Francis journal Design For Health.<\/p>\n

Dr Fanke Peng<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0– A leading Australian academic in interdisciplinary design for improving health outcomes. Fanke has extensive experience in international research projects and is a published author in cross-cultural design. Fanke is currently hosting Claire as a distinguished visiting scholar at University of Canberra.\u00a0Find out more\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Claire Craig<\/a>\u00a0is Reader in Design and Creative Practice in Health in the\u00a0Art & Design Research Centre<\/a>\u00a0(ADRC) and Co-Director of the interdisciplinary research group\u00a0Lab4Living<\/a>. Claire\u2019s research focuses on the role of creative practices in improving quality of life and well-being for people living with dementia.<\/p>\n
