{"id":7424,"date":"2019-07-16T18:26:33","date_gmt":"2019-07-16T17:26:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/?p=7424"},"modified":"2019-09-10T16:10:30","modified_gmt":"2019-09-10T15:10:30","slug":"sonja-pedell-visiting-scholar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/sonja-pedell-visiting-scholar\/","title":{"rendered":"Lab4Living welcomes Visiting Scholar from Future Self and Design Living Lab, Melbourne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the programme of research activities <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/lab4living-awarded-4-million-research-england\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">funded through the Expanding Excellent in England programme<\/a>, Lab4Living will host the first in a series of Visiting Scholars this week. Researcher Dr Sonja Pedell, who heads up the\u00a0Future Self and Design Living Lab will be joining the Lab4Living team from Friday 19th July for a month.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Pedell will be working with\u00a0Lab4Living&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/claire-craig\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr Claire Craig\u00a0<\/a>on a body of research focusing on technology and care. Dr Pedell has previously collaborated with Claire on a number of projects relating to dementia research, culminating in presentations at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/research.shu.ac.uk\/design4health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Design4Health<\/a> conference that\u00a0Swinburne University and Lab4Living co-hosted in Melbourne in December 2017.<\/p>\n<p>During this visit, Dr Pedell will give a lunchtime seminar entitled\u00a0\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/lunchtime-seminar-sonja-pedell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Advocacy for and co-design\u00a0with older adults and people living with dementia<\/a>\u2019 as part of the C3RI lunchtime seminar series. All are welcome to attend the seminar on <strong>Monday 22nd July<\/strong> from\u00a0<strong>1.30pm <\/strong>to<strong> 2.30pm <\/strong>at <strong>Charles Street 12.4.12<\/strong>.
