Arranged by early career researchers within Lab4Living, we hope the symposium will provide a snapshot of what we do in the Lab, as well as enable meaningful connections and collaborations for future work.<\/p>\n<h3>Plan for the day<\/h3>\n<p>After a chance to network over breakfast, we will be <strong>showcasing a range of projects<\/strong> and approaches from Lab4Living\u2019s portfolio, which focusses on bringing a creative, design-led approach to research in health and wellbeing in a diverse range of contexts.<\/p>\n<p>The main part of the session, however, will involve the active participation of attendees through the <strong>Lego Serious Play<\/strong> method. Together, we hope to map the strengths, skills and aspirations across the different departments of the University, looking for opportunities to collaborate or work together in new ways.<\/p>\n<p>We are also very pleased to announce that the symposium will end with a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/lunchtime-seminar-sonja-pedell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>fantastic keynote talk from Dr Sonja Pedell<\/strong><\/a>, Associate Professor and Director of the Future Self and Design Living Lab, at Swinburne University, Australia.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How to attend<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Spaces are free but limited \u2013 please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/lab4living-beyond-tickets-64521677073\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">register in advance<\/a> to secure your place, and to help us make the day as useful for you as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Participants are welcome from academic staff and <span style=\"font-size: 15.2015px\">postgraduate<\/span>\u00a0students in any discipline <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">from within Sheffield Hallam University<\/span>. The only thing you will need to bring to the session is collaborative mindset, so why not invite a colleague from your department too? Our work spans a range of health contexts across the entire life course, and is characterised by the use of <em>creating<\/em> and <em>making.<\/em> These effective, empowering approaches include those affected by the research outcomes in the knowledge creation process, as a route to greater impact.<\/p>\n<p>The Lab has recently been awarded \u00a34 million in funding from Research England in recognition of its excellence in design-led research.
